Sam Smorkle
Sam Smorkle was adopted into the Order of the Hidden Blades as an infant when his Goblin family was killed while defending an assassination target. Despite his young age and relative naivete he should not be underestimated as an assassin and has many successful marks under his belt.
One of his most prolific kills was the dark wizard Garrow who attempted to turn himself into a Lich, but Sam interfered in the ritual enough to cause it to go wrong. The wizard died and his soul went into his intended ancient arrow, but none of the advantages of the lich came with it. Sam returned the arrow to his order to be used as a potential weapon, one he has withdrawn for marks many times, including his job with the Heroes of Tortuga.
Sam was given the mark Lambert Wilks by one of the Order's leaders Colter, but it was a setup for Colter's own ends. Sam got in with Lambert's brother Detland Wilks becoming his bodyguard and friend and working as a Hero of Tortuga as he waited for a chance to kill his brother.
Eventually Colter arrived to "assist" Sam in killing his mark but instead he was framed in the poisoning of Detland Wilks. Sam and his friends tracked Colter down at the home of the Order of the Hidden Blades and uncovered the truth. Colter himself was Sam's true mark and together with Holvir Vlaston his contract was fulfilled, with the illicit gold Colter had obtained as his reward.
Sam continued with his friends as the Heroes of Tortuga as the next target he received was Loskar, who was working with the Taken. He assisted in killing him in the The Battle of The Eridium Spires and defended the world from the Taken.
After the battle he ascended to the position as one of the co-commanders of the Order of the Hidden Blades.
