Mimi Flowerpicker, Champion of Wrinyth

See, you're right, because if I say I'm wrong, then I'll be right, meaning I'm not wrong, which makes me right.
— Mimi Flowerpicker
Mimi Flowerpicker was formerly a mountainborn champion and a member of an adventuring party based in southern vehasi. She was strong and protective, but was not particularly smart. For most of the time that she was with them, though her and the party had their differences, Mimi was fiercely loyal to her group.
Mimi's is a tale of preventable tragedy. She was born to a village that did not want her, and was slowly torn away from the few friends that she was able to make, due to a decision that she made and could never take back. She became the champion of a goddess she had never cared for, and was forced to face her former friends - only to be killed by them.

Personal History

Early Life

You have a lot of unaddressed problems. Maybe you should go see a therapist.
— Mimi, speaking to Shaco
Mimi was born to a clan of mountainborn in the Solorim Mountains, named Flowerpicker due to her tendency to go out across the mountain cliffs and collect flowers. However, she quickly discovered that she did not fit in there. She was kept out of the loop of most of the goings-on of her community, and even while she was young the people that she made friends with would try to shy away from her. She grew lonely in her village, and eventually decided to leave the mountains, heading west and downwards into Astrakkhan.

Gladiatrix Victorious

"Do you know what a bow is?"
"Yeah, a coward's weapon."
— Conversation between Faebellis and Mimi, respectively
Mimi soon found her way into a gladiatorial arena, where she quickly put her strength to use and learned how to fight. Though she had a rocky start, it wasn't long before she was dominating everything and everyone in the arena. She soon became a crowd favourite, winning more and more matches. It was shortly before she left that she was named the Gladiatrix Victorious, unable to be defeated. However, she eventually got bored of the monotonous arena fighting, and left being a gladiator behind her - much to the chagrin of the arena's owners.

Adventuring Days

Mimi, stop breaking the fabric of reality.
— Wrath Wildfire, one of Mimi's old party members
Shortly after leaving the arena, Mimi met Kit Seaglade, Yinzumin, and Faebellis, three members of an adventuring party that Mimi would soon join. Mimi quickly became friends with Kit, and though the members of their party would change over the time they travelled together, the two remained an inseperable pair. Later, the group adopted Onyx Crux, and lost him just as quickly. Eventually Shaco and Wrath Wildfire joined the group, and after Yinzumin and Faebellis left, they were joined by the final member that Mimi would meet, Mel Cifarelli.
The party, while they had their arguments and differences, got along fairly well together. They were an effective team, facing down many monsters and foes together. One such adventure took them to the Underdark, to a temple of Wrinyth.

A Deal with Wrinyth

When the light of the axe goes away, so does the light behind Shaco's eyes.
— Mimi, upon being told by her party to get rid of Wrinyth's greataxe
When the party found their way into a buried and decrepit temple to Wrinyth, they found a fountain with dried blood in its basin. The party decided to replenish the blood in the fountain - at which point, the blood now flowing through it began to glow. Mimi decided to try to taste the blood in the fountain - upon doing so, she was transported into the domain of the greater devil Wrinyth. There, she spoke to the goddess, who offered her a powerful axe, in exchange for a favour. Not understanding the significance of the devil's request, Mimi happily accepted, receiving an enchanted greataxe with a stone spider on the centre of its blades.

Curruption & Descent into Insanity

The fear will make them stronger.
— Mimi, under Wrinyth's influence
As Mimi continued to wield the greataxe, it began to connect itself to her. This began to manifest first in small ways, such as giving her a stickier grip or fangs. She gained red eyes, and became somewhat sensitive to sunlight.
At one point while these symptoms were manifesting, Mimi and the rest of the party found a celestial temple, where Mimi was able to speak to the lesser-known deity residing there. The celestial was able to enlighten Mimi as to the full scope of her deal, providing her advice to find a way to break the deal that she had made with Wrinyth. She was unable to provide any further help, however, and the spell that she had used to help Mimi understand wore off quickly.
Mimi began to exhibit more strange traits, becoming able to walk on walls and gaining an innate friendship and understanding of spiders. She became capable of summoning them eventually, as well.
While this was happening, her party was becoming concerned, begging her to get rid of the axe. However, Mimi was magically compelled to keep it, by Wrinyth, and this began to create a wedge between Mimi and the party.
Things came to a head when the party fought Dr. Fritz Haber, however. She used her greataxe in this battle, and when the killing blow caused the doctor to disintegrate, Mimi felt divinely compelled to eat his corpse. After shovelling a handful of ash into her mouth, she began to have a mental breakdown.

Champion of Wrinyth

When the party was tracking Katherine Seaglade and Kit's father, Elijah Seaglade, Mimi began to be plagued by dreams of Wrinyth. The devil convinced Mimi to turn on her party, and try to kill them. She did so, though she hesitated to harm Kit. When it became clear that Mimi would lose the fight, Wrinyth teleported Mimi away to her domain, where she was changed into a Chosen of Wrinyth - the lower half of her body replaced with that of a large spider's - and became the goddess' Champion. She was Wrinyths champion for over 2 years, before meeting her old adventuring party again, and being forced to fight them - at which point, they killed her. Her soul has since gone to the Nine Hells and become a devil.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Mimi is incredibly strong, even for a mountainborn. She was naturally the strongest in her clan, even when she was a child. It was this strength that led her to becoming a gladiator in the first place, after all. However, near the end of her life, her body began to adjust after her deal with Wrinyth. This had caused her to become sensitive to sunlight, and she could barely see during the day - much less fight. While this did affect her fighting, it also affected her mentally, as she panicked about this newfound weakness.

Body Features

Mimi's grey-blue skin is lined with darker lines, tattoos from her culture that she has since left. Within mountainborn culture, these tattoos emulate stone, and represent the clan and family that an individual is born to - as well as how they choose to pave their path in live. Mimi has largely abandoned this tradition, with only the markings she received in a coming-of-age ceremony. She had no interest in getting any more tattooed markings, nor was she even fully aware of their meaning in the first place.

Facial Features

Mimi had a somewhat ovular face, with a kind softness to it - despite her intimidating figure. She had hazel eyes before they turned red because of her deal with Wrinyth, and a wide smile that was very warm, welcoming, and friendly. This reflected her personality before she became Wrinyth's champion, as she truly was a kind soul.

Special abilities

Mimi had some nature related abilities, able to harness aspects of forest animals while she was fighting. Due to her connection to nature, she was able to learn to speak with animals, and she took a liking to spiders in particular due to Wrinyth's influence. The spiders were also friendly to her, helping her where they could - as they felt magically compelled to do so.

Apparel & Accessories

Mimi liked to wear mismatched leathers and furs in her clothing, often with belts, wraps, and other accessories to tie the outfits together. There was very little thought put in to her outfits, though there were some aspects that she enjoyed and would include in the majority of her outfits. One such feature was wrist-guards, or other clothing intended to cover solely her forearm. She liked to keep her hair down, and rarely covered her face.

Specialized Equipment

The most notable of Mimi's equipment was, of course, her greataxe. This greataxe was gifted to her by the greater devil Wrinyth, who created it specifically for her during their deal. The magical greataxe connected itself to Mimi, and she was unable to give it away once she began using it. She was able to summon a giant spider through this axe, animating the one on its blade - she named this spider Rg (pronounced "George").

Mental characteristics

Education

The cooking teacher would be so proud...
— Mimi Flowerpicker
The closest thing that Mimi had to an education was her learning how to fight in her days as a gladiator. She had no formal education, nor did she have the mental capacity to be able to do so. She did brielfy attend a cooking class for children while in her mid-twenties, though this venture was short-lived as the chef teaching the class soon became fed up with her and quit his job.

Mental Trauma

I think Mimi's too stupid to be traumatised.
Kahael, former member of Mimi's former adventuring party
Mimi went through many a traumatic event in her lifetime, from her time as a gladator in the arenas to the end of her life as the Champion of Wrinyth. Very little of this affected her, however. She had a tendency to act as though nothing was wrong, and in doing so, very little was wrong - through her mindset. The only thing that did end up affecting her was the friendship she had formed with Kit. When she had to face Kit fighting, she could never bring herself to attack her - even when compelled to do so by her own goddess.

Intellectual Characteristics

HOLY SHIT did I do something smart?
— Mimi Flowerpicker
Mimi, while strong, fiercely loyal, and lovable (in the earlier stages of her life), was not the sharpest sword in the armoury. She was largely unintelligent, unable to pick up on social cues, had a less-than-great memory, and was entirely illiterate. She tried her best, but she was incapable of retaining any useful information, the majority of her cognitive ability going towards her fighting.

Personality Characteristics

Personality Quirks

I'm going to go cry in a corner because I ate someone.
— Mimi Flowerpicker, after compulsively eating the disintegrated corpse of Dr. Fritz Haber
While Mimi was always somewhat of a strange person, she gained some stranger quirks nearer to the end of her life. These were almost all directly related to either her greataxe or Wrinyth herself. These quirks were originally smaller things, such as spiders being slighly friendlier towards her, or being slightly paranoid and insisting that someone was watching her. However, these traits soon devolved into ones much more extreme - namely, the urge to eat the bodies of the people that she and the party killed. Mel helped to comfort her through these struggles, but they ultimately drew her away from the party.

Hygiene

I haven't had a shower in three years! I haven't bathed in my entire life! I smell bad!
— Mimi Flowerpicker, discussing hygiene with her adventuring party
Mimi was notoriously bad at personal hygiene, having never really learned how to take care of herself, nor felt the need. This problem was only slightly minimised during her time with her adventuring party, who encouraged her to wash herself and her clothing. However, once she became the Champion of Wrinyth, she fell back into her bad hygiene habits.
I don't know where I got them from but I've had 20 skulls just chilling in my back pocket for the past like month so like... give 'em to the cow?

Social

Relationships

Kit Seaglade

Kit. Do you want to put a fish in a waterskin?
— Mimi, talking to Kit
Kit and Mimi had almost a sibling-like relationship. Naturally protective of children, Kit's eternally young form caused Mimi to immediately want to protect her. The two had sort of an older sibling-younger sibling bond, though which was which was up for debate. They would get into trouble together, and laugh about it together. They were a mischievous duo, and were great friends before Mimi's betrayal.

Wrath Wildfire

Is your hair allergic to alcohol? Can we cook food over you?
— Mimi, talking to Wrath
Wrath and Mimi always butted heads. Mimi's questions and lack of understanding would always annoy Wrath, as his assumptions of other people's knowledge would annoy Mimi. Wrath would also consistently get fed up at Mimi's poor decision-making skills - though this was an annoyance he had with much of their adventuring party. Still, Mimi and Wrath's arguments would often cause issues for the rest of the party.

Shaco

"What are you saying oh no to?"
"You!"
— Shaco and Mimi, respectively
Mimi and Shaco were sort of friends, though they did have many arguments. They would consistently make fun of one another - whether this was playful or genuine was unclear on both ends. Shaco would often encourage Mimi in her bad decisions, and Mimi likewise to Shaco's pranks, making them a dangerous pair whenever they agreed on anything - which, granted, was rare.

Mel Cifarelli

Aw, buddy, it happens to us all
— Mel comforting Mimi after she was compelled to eat the disintegrated corpse of Dr. Fritz Haber
Mel and Mimi had a somewhat close relationship, the two getting each other more than either would have expected. Both of them originated from the mounains, and both had, unexpected to themselved, grown attached to the party that they had become members of. In addition, they had both killed many people before becoming an adventurer. In a way, they were kindred spirits.

Faebellis

So if I punch the water hard enough-
— Mimi discussing transportation with Faebellis
Mimi and Faebellis did not interact for very long, and did not form much of a relationship with one another. Neither really cared for one another, and their interactions within the party felt like more of a business exchange to each of them. Granted, what Mimi though a business exchange was and how Faebellis though of a business exchange were incredibly different.

Onyx Crux

You feel like a sword, but you are not a sword.
— Mimi, upon meeting Onyx
Mimi and Onyx did not get along in the brief amount of time that they knew one another. Onyx was always down-to-business, the opposite of Mimi's happier go-where-the-wind-takes-you attitude. Mimi was the primary reason that Onyx left the party, at which point he went to go create a mountain range in the south of Vehasi.

Religion

Some guy gets mad, I get a fuckin' headache, and now I'm a heretic.
— Mimi Flowerpicker, leaving the Temple of the Eternal Flame after speaking to its deity
Mimi is known in a few temples as She of Many Gods. This is because she had spoken to multiple different deities, and worshipped at least three. She spoke to Aleyara in the stead of Mel, and was an acolyte of another celestial shortly before she began to become Wrinyth's champion. She also briefly interacted with two other celestials, one of which she was nearly convinced to make a deal with.

Pets & Companions

Mimi's primary companion later in life was Rg, the spider that she was able to manifest from her greataxe. While Rg was not sentient in any regard, nor was he technically alive, Mimi would have long, one-sided conversations with him about general life things that she was experiencing. This became a good way for her to process her emotions, and the behaviour only increased after she betrayed her party and had no one else to turn to.

Bonus Quotes

— Mimi Flowerpicker
And of course by punch, I mean punch with the blade of my axe while I'm swinging it.
— Mimi Flowerpicker
Three's not a hard number to remember. I mean, for some people it is. Not for me.
— Mimi Flowerpicker
It's never the axe.
