Katherine "Kit" Beatrice Seaglade

Kit Seaglade, known originally as Katherine Seaglade, is a thief-turned-adventurer with an open mind and a big heart. She was born in Eclania to Beatrice and Elijah Seaglade, the former dying during Kit's birth. She died when she was only 14, revived half a decade later without her memory after her father abandoned his church.
Kit was not the only attempt at reviving his daughter that Elijah had created. There were a number of failed iterations whose hearts had stopped again just after they had restarted, and one iteration who had abandoned her father entirely to try to condemn him to the Nine Hells. However, Kit was his first successful revival, and lived with him until the prior Katherine faked his death.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Kit is small and nimble, though she is not particularly strong. Some of her skin and organs aren't in the best condition, as her father got them secondhand - but they function all the same. She is best at dextrous tasks, or those that require fine manipulation - just don't ask her to pick up anything heavy.

Special abilities

Kit has a moderate understanding of magic, able to cast a few rudimentary spells that have been helpful on more than one occasion. She is able to quickly travel across longer distances, move swiftly within the shadows, and traverse open or shadowed spaces unnoticed all the same. She prefers to fight from hiding places, ambushing her opponents rather than fighting her face-to-face. Some may call this unfair fighting, though she simply refers to it as levelling the playing field. After all, she is often much smaller than the opponents that she takes on.

Personal history

Early Life

Kit was born to a mostly-happy family, with her father Elijah, and her older sister Dorothea, or Dot. Dot, in her younger years, felt some resentment towards Kit for taking her mother away, and the two grew up with a rift between them that their father struggled to mend. However, things began to change later in Kit's life.

Illness

Kit soon became ill with a sickness that even her father, an acolyte, found himself unable to cure. Kit quickly came to terms with her upcoming death, something that her father was not able to do. On her deathbed, she and Dot finally began to reconnect with one another, truly siblings for only a very short while before Kit finally passed away. Her dying request was for Elijah to move on, and continue living his life without her - she had seen how her mother's death had affected him, and did not want him to abandon her sister.

Resurrection

Her father was unable to honour her request, instead taking it upon himself to try to resurred her. This took many failed iterations before this version of Kit was restored - however, she did not have her memories. At this point, Dot had already gone to university, and it was only Kit and her father left. She took care of him as his body grew frail, until leaving after he seemingly died of a heart attack.

Life on the Streets

Kit found it difficult to obtain a job; her ever-youthful face not aging past fourteen wasn't doing her any favours in looking like a trustworthy employee. Instead, she turned to crime, using the magical skills that her father had taught her to become somewhat of a scoundrel. She would take some odd jobs here and there, but she never had any consistent employment.

Adventuring

Things changed when she met Yinzumin, however, who inspired her to become an adventurer. The two travelled and began to collect other members of their party: Orianna, then Faebellis, then Mimi Flowerpicker, then Onyx Crux, then Shaco and Wrath Wildfire, and then Mel Cifarelli, Cas Seaglade - another prior version of Kit - and then finally Amren. While not all of this group stayed, and Yinzumin himself did end up leaving, Kit's thieving days were now behind her.

A Family Reunion

Kit and her party soon began to find a few things that were quite... odd. First, they found an old corpse that looked identical to Kit herself. Then, they ran into another version of Kit, calling herself Kathering. They eventually met Kit's older sister when they went to the Symposium Arcanum, and found her presenting there. Kit was able to talk to Dorothea, discovering what had really happened before and after her death. Dot had not been aware that Kit had been revived, but she knew that their father had become more reclusive, and had become concerned for him.

The Ghost City

Things all came to a head with Kit's family when Kit's adventuring party found the city of Tunstead half in the Ethereal Plane, and half in the Prime Material. They soon discovered that it was in fact Katherine that was behind this, having used powerful magic. She was planning on using all of the souls residing within the city for her own nefarious purposes, and the group steeled themselves to stop her. It was at this point where some of the biggest betrayals of Kit's life took place. First, Mimi attacked the party, fully under the control of Wrinyth. Then, they learned that her father was alive and working with Katherine. The group fought with Katherine and won, giving Elijah a second chance at redemption in his old temple.

Alive Once More

After Kit and the party had saved the city of Tunstead, they were able to go to the Temple of the Eternal Flame and speak to the deity there. While there, each of the party members involved spoke to the celestial of the temple, who granted each of them one desire. At this point, Kit recieved her old memories back, and was given an aged body, reflective of her own age rather than her 14-year-old self.

The Countenance

Through her days of adventuring, and as she learned more about her past, Kit's morality began to shift for the better. While she was a member of her adventuring group, she joined a secret organisation known as the Countenance, an organisation set on the betterment of the world through fighting injustice and corruption. After her adventuring group disbanded, she began to climb the ranks, eventually becoming leader of the organisation. Its youngest leader by far, she was only 31 when she gained this title.

Education

The vast majority of Kit's education was through her father, who taught her magic relevant to what she needed at their home. She was also educated in mathematics, literature, and other important topics, which she took somewhat of a liking to. Later in life, she taught herself how to lockpick, sneak around, and do other things that would enable her to be a thief.

Employment

Kit spent the beginning of her independent life as a contract thief, stealing from homes, safes, or government buildings upon contract by others. However, she would later become an adventurer, joining an adventuring party and living a (slightly) more honest lifestyle.

Intellectual Characteristics

Kit is a lot smarter than she lets other people catch on to, and most don't realise how intelligent she really is. This is by design - it is to her benefit that people underestimate her. This was all the more common when she still had a childlike body, but even know, she has people second-guessing her all too often.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Kit's original motivation was to aid her father. However, after she believed that her father died, her focus turned to aquisition of money. She needed to survive, and in order to survive she needed to make a living. However, this renegade lifestyle did not suit her, as she became lonely and unnoticed. Therefore, when she did end up joining an adventuring party, she was overjoyed at the ability to work and be friends with the people that she was working with. To her, this was somewhat of a dream come true - despite some of the hiccups.

Personality Quirks

Kit still has a few childish mannerisms, old habits from when she appeared to be a child physically. She has grown out of most of them, though some - like her easy attachment to animals - have remained. She is very loveable, both when she was a child and as an adult.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Kit still keeps in contact with every member of her old adventuring party that she can - even sending a letter or two to Yinzumin, even if he doesn't respond. She has become a highly sociable person, and has also begun to reconnect with her sister after their long years apart. The betrayal of Mimi broke her spirit a bit, but she has not let it come between her relationship with others, who she still cherishes - even if she does butt heads with some of them sometimes.

Religious Views

Kit is not particularly religious, despite how she was raised. She has respect for the deities, of course, but does not hold a close connection to any of them. Despite her upbringing, the deity who she most closely resembles is Myldala, the goddess of magic - also the goddess whose month Kit both was born and died in. However, Kit remains mostly independent from worship. She gives the gods due respect when she gets the chance, but does not tend to go out of her way to do so.

Social Aptitude

Kit is very socially apt, able to read rooms and feelings very reliably. She was able to command the attention of anyone she needed to when she was trapped in the body of her child form, convincing bystanders that she was an innocent child in need of aid. Even now, however, she is able to manipulate groups of people to her advantage, should she so need to do so.

Hobbies & Pets

Kit's most beloved pet and companion is Milkshake, a large white cow far taller than she is. Milkshake was abandoned on a road that she had been travelling on when her party was just her, Yinzumin, and Orianna. They had determined that Milkshake's previous owner was nowhere to be found, and Kit insisted on keeping him. Milkshake is one of the few things that Kit has deemed important enough to spend money on, and if anything were to ever happen to him, Kit would be inconsolable.

Wealth & Financial state

Kit has become much wealthier than she likes to let on. She saves up her money, for the most part - something that has allowed her to accrue larger sums of wealth than some of the other members of her party. She is exceedingly careful about what she spends her money on, as well, resuling in a large amount of money that she must now find safe and reliable places to store.
