Hover Trucks

Hover Trucks are uncommon in the core worlds of the Empire, but are essential on freshly colonized worlds.   These vehicles are design to haul cargo across any terrain or in any weather. Whether it's transporting lumber (or similar material), valuable ore, Dull Machines, or people, it will do so as safely as possible. Onboard is a dull AI designed to adjust the vehicle's height, ramp, and several mechanical arms to aid in loading or unloading cargo.   Their size is comparable to a modern RV. It is a self-driving vehicle, and thus no driver's compartment, and the onboard AI drives the vehicle where requested, via voice command. An H Truck can be programmed to recognize only certain voices as a security measure. Manual override of the AI is possible in emergencies but not recommended, especially for humans, given the high probability of error and the ease of impairment.   Most of the vehicle is a flatbed for holding cargo, with folding seats that can be used to secure passengers during travel. There are also arms on the inside and outside of the truck that can fold out and aid loading and unloading, and reduce the chance of injury or damage. Typically dull machines are employed for dangerous or difficult labor, but these need time to be installed, and as much are the first cargo an H Truck will carry on a colonized world.

Power Generation

Batteries. How they are charged depends on the resources available on the planet. For new colonies these are typically geothermal, solar, or hydroelectric.

Propulsion

Anti-gravity tech keeps it floating so it can avoid most environmental hazards.

Weapons & Armament

None. Any defense a person might need against hostile fauna would be provided elsewhere.

Armor and defense

Hover trucks are large and designed to endure both harsh weather and rough terrain. These also protects it from potentially hostile wilflife.

Additional & auxiliary systems

Includes a flatbed with a cover that can be deployed if necessary.
