Dragonborn

Dragonborn are a race of draconic humanoids that are the result of the offspring between a dragon and another race.   Dragonborn resembled in many ways what their name suggests: humanoid dragons. Standing on average around 6'2" – 6'8", dragonborn were impressively tall with a heavy weight to match, commonly possessing a mass of 220–320 lbs. Dragonborn feet ended with three strong talon-like claws with a fourth claw in the back, while their hands were similar with three claws with a thumb replacing the rear claw. A dragonborn's head featured a blunt snout, a strong brow, and reptilian frills on the cheeks and ears. On the back of the head, a crest of hornlike scales formed what resembled a mess of ropy hair. Dragonborn eyes were usually red or gold in hue but could be nearly any color. Often dragonborn had tails, but occasionally would be born without.   Owing to their draconic ancestry, Dragonborn exhibited many draconic features, including a scaly hide, a large muscular body, the capacity to use a breath weapon, and resistance to the same elemental energy they can breathe. They almost always had colorings matching their parent dragon but sometimes were born with a brown or tan color. Like dragons, dragonborn were often mistaken for reptiles, but were in fact warm-blooded draconic creatures.   Dragonborn reproduction was unique among the mortal races. They were incapable of breeding with most races and even with one another, though the exact reason for this is unknown. Because of this its rare to find Dragonborn societies, as they would die out within a single generation. They were capable of bearing children with humans or half humans however, but this would always result in a human child. THese humans carried latent draconic heritage in their blood, often resulting in draconic bloodline sorcerer's many generations later. Because Dragonborn were significantly different than humans and quite rare on their own, it was very rare for these children to be conceived.   Dragonborn are born of passion in where a dragon takes an interest in a humanoid, assumes a compatible form and conceives the child. Some seek out these relationships, desiring humanoid guardians for their lairs that are more intelligent and loyal than the normal kobolds that flock to true dragons. Dragonborn born of a female dragon are laid as eggs similarly to a dragon, albeit much smaller, and often many would be conceived at once. Those born of a female humanoid were born live rather than out of an egg. Young dragonborn grew at an impressively rapid rate, much faster than most other races, reaching the equivalent maturity of a human child of 10 by age 3. They were capable of eating soft foods immediately.
