Eliander Fireborn

Eliander is former captain of the town guard after the position was separated by a recent law, and one of the five members of the council. He is a local celebrity thanks to his facility with languages, and he is often called upon by the town’s various organizations to assist with translations.
He is an ex member of the Waymarch cavalry and he, along with a few of his old companions, have chosen Saltmarsh as his home. He is actually an Oceander but his grandparents migrated to the Duchy of Waymarch before his parents were even born.
Eliander is incredibly tall, as well as a calm and cautious individual, choosing his actions and words carefully but then fully committing to everything he does. He is fiercely anti-pirate and strives to put an end to the smugglers who avoid Bard's Gates taxes, seeing the city as a force of good for the world.
In late 3517 he attempted to arrest Gellan Primewater, Zelem and Morrigan Oweland for  their crimes against Bards Gate. Unfortunately for him the townsfolk was on their side, and he was arrested. Morrigan Oweland levied accusation against him for murdering Eda Oweland, and Eliander was hung in the town square to the roar of the angry crowd.
