The Delafont Barony
The Delafont Barony is commanded by a wealthy noble family that has authority over a vast section of the Plains of Mayfurrow. They call the Castle Delafont and the nearest town of of Riverside their home, though their influence has spread rapidly in recent years.
A small collection of villages in the region owe the Delafonts their loyalty, and after declaring their independence from Bards Gate, they now exist as a small kingdom in the Plains of Mayfarrow.
Recent Events
Lady Evelane has denounced Phillip Hanover of the Hanover Barony as illegitimate and launched a surprise invasion of his realms. Not expecting an attack, Lady Evalane easily overwhelmed his forces using her impressive Knights. Phillip himself was captured and put to the sword, and she has claimed his lands as her own. Most recently, Victor Ambrose has pledged his loyalty to Lady Evelane and committed his forces to her. After quickly gaining control of the two neighboring baronies, the remaining two baronies declared their allegiance to her. There is an uneasy standoff between her and the Akadian Pact, and both are unsure of what might happen should Bards Gate bring its armies to bare.Lady Evelane Delafont
With the death of her father Lord Arthur Delafont during the invasion of Bards Gate, she became the patroness of the family at a young age. Born to an Elf of the Sylvanthalor, she remained with her father and adapted well into the life of a noblewoman. As is customary for a noble, from a young age she trained in combat. Far exceeding her peers, Lady Evelalane drew her strength from the divine. Favored by Narrah, The Lady of the Moon, her and her Knights defended the realm from much of the evil that rose in the wake of Bards Gates siege that sought to capitalize on the aftermath. Choosing to ride on horseback whenever possible and donning the finest Full Plate that can be made, her cataphracts are a dangerous force to be reckoned with. She has slain several terrible beasts single handedly, but her combat prowess is not her only legacy. Since her fathers passing, she has helped organize community improvement projects like irrigation, roadwork, and wells, often rolling up her sleeves and chipping in with the manual labor herself. Her staunch loyalty to her people has led to them supporting her in return, for many have eagerly joined her in her latest conquest, whether they believe her accusations or not. Despite being known for a fierce warrior, she is every bit as elegant and fine in court as one would expect of one of her station. Through careful diplomacy and familial connections, she has solidified her own holdings and sought expansion. After denouncing Phillip Hanover, she invaded his realms and quickly brought them under heel. Though it is not known why, Victor Ambrose has recently pledged his lands and service to her, gaining her many soldiers and valuable lands in her fledgling realm. With her rise to power she has taken her Knights sigil as her own, and proclaimed all lands she controls as blessed by the moon goddess. While she may be a fierce warrior and excellent at diplomacy, she is not known to be a great battle commander. Some of her greatest battles were only won through sheer strength, and she does not trust others to lead her forces.Holdings
The capital city of Delafont is where her castle lies and is the claim to her families name. She controls the settlements of Dracotia, Harlaton, Hommlet and Phandalin. Her last large holding is Riverside With the recent conquest of the regions of Hanover and Ambrose, those that fall under her rule have increased substantially. Griffonholm, Hanover, and Erneth town now swear her fealty from the Hanover realms. Milborne, Thurmaster, Ambrose, Cobyr Square and Karpad all now fall under her rule with her control over the Ambrose realms.Delafont Sigil
