Émli Wafora
"The older woman that steps out of the door surprises everyone. She appears to be a simple human of local origin, and she wears plain clothes and a masked expression. Her simple brown hair is tied in a bun behind her, and her tanned skin marks her as a farmer... The woman is unfazed by any of the jeering thrown at her. She takes her seat carefully, shifting her simple clothing as she gets comfortable for what could be a gruelling day or two of questioning. Despite the gravity of what is to come, her face seems to barely move." ~It Eats At Our Table

Personal history
Émli Wafora was born a poor farmer in the village of Viron in Loria. Not much is known of her history before marrying Vankos Wafora, not even her maiden name.
After marrying Vankos, she became more invested in the livelihood of her town, and more and more against the feudal system that kept her and many others tethered to their lord. Lord Viróna was also well-known for his wealth, which became a rallying point for her revolutionaries. The destruction of her farmhouse by the Lord's daughter and a pack of gnolls was the last straw, and she led a group of people to seek recompense from Lord Viróna. When they did not, she began to plan more treasonous plans, which her husband told to the guard.
When she was arrested the next day, the entire town rallied around her and freed her. The group broke into the manor and surprised Lord Viróna while he was asleep, killing him and looting his home. They then began to organize a plan to spread their anti-feudalist views throughout much of southern Loria. This brought them to Paqueli, where Émli was arrested again, brought to Lerdelore for trial, and summarily executed for treason.
Morality & Philosophy
Émli and her bands of rebels were completely against the idea of wealth; for them, wealth was a surefire way to greed and exploitation. Considering her farmer's roots, this was unsurprising. The only reason history remembers her was because she was so charismatic and her followers so fanatic that they made even judges and guards ponder the morality of her views.
