Ignelsio Fardaker

Lord Magistrate Ignelsio Fardaker

As you walk into the office, a balding portly man stands up from his desk. He visibly winces and lets one of his hands brush his left leg before standing up straight. He is wearing the blue robes and purple trousers that identify him as the local Magistrate. As he raises his hand from his leg in preparation for a handshake, you can see that his left leg seems a little swollen.   "Greetings, and welcome to Freebrook." the man's drawling voice intones. "I am Ignelsio Fardaker, the local Magistrate. Now, what business do you bring to me this day?"

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Ignelsio is a portly man, with flabby pale skin and a lack of the muscles that made him a good soldier in his youth. His grey eyes are often watery, and he is often found leaning on a cane due to the gout that makes it difficult to walk.

Body Features

His skin is pale and flabby from years of sitting at a desk.

Facial Features

His cheeks are often flushed, showing his age in the thin lines of wrinkles and a slight watering of his eyes. As is common among wealthy Gratics, his eyebrows have been shaved off.

Identifying Characteristics

Ignelsio can often be identified by his portly body, if not by the robes of a Magistrate.

Physical quirks

Due to his gout, he walks with a limp; he will be found leaning on a walking cane if he has to walk long distances.

Apparel & Accessories

He can often be found in the traditional dress of a Magistrate: blue robes embroidered with the seal of The Gratic Empire, a pair of dark purple trousers, and a golden necklace containing a sapphire. If he is found outside of his house, he will often be carrying a walking cane.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Ignelsio grew up in a wealthy Gratic merchant family from Domiel, and even from a young age he was interested in politics. When he was eighteen, he went into the military for three years and rose to the rank of captain before he decided to retire from service. He then began work in the imperial government, working as a scribe in the courts of law in Gratic City before he was taken under the wing of the Lord Magistrate of Freebrook. After the latter's demise, Ignelsio took up his position and has held it for some ten years.   The Drakeslayers helped him when his wife was captured by bandits in 182 II . When they returned with her unharmed, he provided them with a reward and gave them freedom of the town once more.

  • Intellectual Characteristics

Ignelsio is a champion of logical reasoning and is a shrewd judge of character.   He is constantly skeptical of demands and threats, having learned to weather him both on the field of battle and in the courtroom. Those who intimidate him are automatically treated as criminals.

    Morality & Philosophy

Ignelsio is mostly in it for himself at this point, his gout making it difficult for him to rule as effectively as he used to. That being said, he will only work in the confines of the law, long ago learning that the lawless are a real threat to Gratic society.

    Personality Characteristics

He has a wife, Flora Fardaker, and a son in the military by the name of Gars.

    Religious Views

Ignelsio goes to temple services, but he doesn't truly believe in much of what he calls "the pageantry" of it all. He, however, does not deny that his town believes very fervently in the Four and would never openly blaspheme.

    Social Aptitude

Despite his appearance, he is still a very forceful individual. His confidence is still rather strong, although it can be assailed. He believes his personal gain to be his sole goal, although he will not deign to break the law to achieve that.

    Mannerisms

If Ignelsio gets angered, he is prone to stuttering or blubbering nonsensically.

    Hobbies & Pets

When he gets a quiet moment, he likes to sit down and fill out his daily journal. A habit from his military days, there are tens of volumes of similar books in his study. He also is a bit of foodie, liking to pick apart the presentation and taste of his food in much the same way he picks apart political discourse.

    Speech

He has a high voice for a man, with the slight drawl common to Domians.

    Wealth & Financial state

Ignelsio, like many Magistrates, is ridiculously wealthy, not wanting for much of anything. He can often afford to be generous, but doesn't always do so. He also keeps a trio of servants for his sumptuous manor at the edge of town. He also owns some property in the Dúrmi countryside, but hardly ever goes there anymore.
