Rapulari
Ancient texts a thousand years old speak of the existence of the fishing village that became a nation. Rapulari appears by name in the earliest Binian League treaties as the seat of the illustrious Bliebl Family, and they have ruled the city from its roots in the distant past to the present day as it became the cultural and economic hub of the Galvan nation.
Split in Twain
The city is neatly split in two by the Horst River. The majority of the city's administrative buildings, including the Century Citadel and the imposing Cathedral of Paths, are found on the southern bank of the river (called the Southbank), while most of the city's population lives on the northern side of the river (the Northbank). A trio of colourful bridges span the river inside the city limits, not to mention the ornate Bridge of Jesters just outside the city gates. In another way, the city is also divided in two as the main metropolitan area inside its walls is known as the Innesad or inner city. Its opposite are the small hunting forest of the Richter, a collection of privately and publicly owned farms and the city's main port on the bay, all of which are collectively known as the Bautesad or outer city. The port is also home to a vibrant minority community. If the legends are to be believed, the first Hoofkin are descendants of the founder of the city, and one could easily believe it from the number of donkey-eared humanoids walking the streets. Kin from all over Dreandril also call the city home, particularly Lizardkin traders from Geldon Island.Spilt on the Cobblestones
Thankfully, most of the liquid spilled on the city's famous stone roads is alcohol from its many pubs and taverns and water from the coastal rains and snows. But there are rumours of a disgruntled Bliebl ghost who stalks the streets at night. This ghost is believed to be responsible for the recent string of murdered people found floating bloodless in the river or hanging from clotheslines in major streets. This is in addition to the rather rowdy street life of the Northbank, which occasionally leaves a body or two in its wake. The cobblestones of Rapulari might not have seen war in decades, but they most certainly do see fighting regularly enough.
