The Golden Sun's Warmth

Now, I can't imagine anyone exploring the city of Innére without taking in the Golden Sun's Warmth. Whether you actually need the bath or not, the place is full of places to exercise and meet with other interesting folks. I met my wife there, after all.

The Golden Sun's Warmth - often just called "the Gold" or "the Sun" by locals - is a world-famous bathhouse located in the city of Innére in Lintin Province. Operated by the local temple of Alté, this place is a haven for all those who enjoy exercise, relaxation and conversation.

A Place for Competition

The bathhouse includes several places to play games and exercise. A small running track, four courts for games of naméra, and even a pair of frewsân tables let the peoples of the city do sports on land, and a pair of long pools in the bathhouse proper give them the ability to exercise in the water as well. In addition, the nearby park area is often a destination for other sports and pastimes if one needs a little more room than the fenced fields on the bathhouse grounds.

A Place for Comfort

Naturally, the hypocaust baths of the building are its main attraction. Heated through many fires under the structure and a team of trained engineers, several pools of different temperatures allow one to have a bath as hot or cold as they want. For those who might need assistance bathing for reasons of age or disability, a team of professional bath attendants can help them into and out of the pools of their choice. For those who just want a quiet place for contemplation or feel uncomfortable in the main bathing areas, there are also a few private bathing spaces, although the pools here are usually only lukewarm.

A Place for Discussion

Finally, a section of the grounds is used as a public forum. Speech-writers and poets often use these spaces to get their words into the public consciousness, and several stone benches and tables allow more private discussions or meetings to take place. People often order food from the eatery across the street from the bathhouse and bring it here to eat in the company of friends while discussing the latest news, philosophy or military conflict.

Owned by the Temple

Originally, the land that the bathhouse was built on was a small temple to Alté. When that temple was moved to its current location on the banks of the Great River Aldin at the close of the Red Rose War, the land was left empty, and the Lord Mayor of the city set the land aside for a later project. His successor would construct the bathhouse on the land, but a dispute quickly came up regarding the fact that the Temple didn't appreciate a place of recreation being built on hallowed ground. The compromise that was reached meant that the Temple technically owned the building and collected all profits from it, but also had to pay to keep the building in good condition.
