Across the table from the pink-haired man is another man, significantly smaller and a little hunched over. His blond hair is done up in several short braids that make it look like tufts of wheat, and his face ruddy and sweating. You can see his nervous nature plastered over his face as he stares at a pair of playing cards. With a sudden flourish, he throws his cards down and storms off in a huff, showing the ornate book clipped onto his belt.
Later, you see the nervous wizard again. "Z-Zaltar Benvol," he says, "and I th-think that Art sent you to see m-me?" His stutter seems to minimal.

General Physical Condition

Zaltar has a bit of a hunch, and he isn't very physically fit. He is rather agile despite this.

Special abilities

He has powerful magical abilities, bolstered by his enchanted orb and long time spent learning spells. He has a Water Affinity with a small Lightning Affinity.

He wears the standard robes of the College of Mages underneath the brown cloak of the Stalwart Shield.

He has his spellbook on him at all times, and he wields an enchanted orb that he found in a ruined fortress to focus his spells.

Personal history

Zaltar grew up in a family that had a history of magical power, and he grew up reading about the exploits of his ancestors who brought the magic of Endaman to Limbo and beyond. Wanting to be like them, he pleaded with his father to teach him everything he knew about the arcane. Of course, it wasn't until he underwent the Change at the age of sixteen that he could actually perform the spells and incantations and have them do anything.
At that point, he took his father's advice and went to learn at the College of Mages in Gratic City. It was after a few years of learning about arcane arts and the history of magical cultures that he met Art Dagesti and joined his adventuring company . From there, the four of them did job after job in service to the Empire, where his arcane abilities came in handy.

Mental Trauma

Zaltar has some serious speech impediments that make him very nervous, which only exaggerates them. This anxiety means that he often will not talk at all to people for extended periods of time.

Intellectual Characteristics

Zaltar has a very abstract mind, as those who learn magic often do. This means that he has a very easy time understanding concepts and has a very open mind.

Zaltar is inspired by the heroes of old, so he tries his best to not get involved in anything shady or illegal.

Zaltar wants to go down in history like many of the other members of his family. He also feels a wish to explore the rest of the Known Planets, although he is torn between this and a want to leave Endaman only when the continent is safe from the recent increase in demonic activity.

He is incredibly skilled in bookkeeping and accounting, and this is one of the tasks that he performs for the Stalwart Shield.

Zaltar hates the colour red for reasons that he could not name directly.
He prefers direct words between people, and the shorter the conversation, the better.
