Great Trembling

The first occurrence of the Great Trembling happened in the year 333. It was discovered by Eldren and despite him warning the newly lands that it was coming no one took him seriously and so it devastated the land around Greenfall.
After Eldren died, Mentus raised him to godhood for his diligence and discovery of when the earthquakes will happen. As a god he occasionally cursed the land with repeated occurrences of the Great Trembling. This was as payment for those who did not believe him about the first disaster. These new disasters are equally as deviating, and has been known to turn whole cities to rouble. 
About twice each century there is another devastating earthquake somewhere in the world. The locations and exact times of the tremors are unknown to everyone but Eldren himself. The had appeared all over the known world and with no clear pattern making it hard to predict. With as large as the world is almost no place has been hit with the disaster more then once, so most people don't think about it much until it is too late. 
However he always puts subtle clear signs that there will be a disaster that start to appear 50 years before it will happens in a location. So those who want to take up the challenge have their work out for them, not only do they need to find the subtle signs but they also need to be in the right location. However it can be done and a few individuals taught history have successfully managed to predict the event. Anyone who successfully predicts the disaster will be granted the favor of the god and anything that they tried to protect will be spared form the disaster.
