Shadow Code
This language is used solely by the Shadow Writers to send orders though out the world and insure that any new information that is necessary to be known by the members. It was adopted around the same time as the head quarters was moved to the Black Tower, and as they started to have a larger world wide presence.
The code itself consists of letters that are upside down versions of the common tongue in the land. Most of the words in the language was designed for that looking at them upside down they read as normal words, however the sentence as a whole would be messed up.
It takes a while to learn for most people, and the knowledge of the code is reserved for those who are shown to be loyal to the order. When it is time for someone to learn the code they will be sent to the Black Tower and instructed their until they have mastered it. Then they will return to their home and return to normal. On the few occasions where exceptional circumstances were present a representative was sent to the location and teach the student there.
In any given region there are usually a handful of members that are able to read the code. It is the responsibility of these members to share with the others in the area any needed information. They also will be the ones that send reports to the head quarters in order to keep them up to date on the region's affairs.
Once someone knows the Shadow Code they are not allowed to leave the order anyone that tries to or that tells an outsider how to read the code will be killed. They take this secret very seriously for anyone that knows it is a potential risk to their plans.
