Lewyon (lɛˑʊ.jɔn)
When the Ellyll of the seas around Ynysow Syllan pulled the great island of En Noer into the sea, most of the inhabitants of En Noer were killed. The Queen of En Noer (whose name is no longer known) pled with the Ellyll for some clemency, and the island of Frenhines, and the rest of the Ynysow Syllan were allowed to remain above water. The survivors then united under the Queen of En Noer to form the Kingdom of Lewyon. The royal family of Lewyon was the House of Trevyvyain, and they were the direct descendents of the Queen of En Noer. They ruled the kingdom for over five hundred years, and Lewyon prospered under them. It was known for its exceptionally fertile islands and prodigious agricultural output. This made Lewyon rich, but also attracted the attention of the King of Dumnonia, Conomor the Cursed.
In one of the first military campaigns executed by the young King, Conomor invaded and conquered the islands of Ynysow Syllan, and overthrew the Kingdom of Lewyon. It was during this campaign that he earned his epithet of 'the Cursed', when the last King of Lewyon, Gwalather Trevyvyain pronounced a curse upon him before being executed. Conomor laughed at the king's curse, and was reported to say that all conquerers are cursed by those they defeat, and that being cursed was a mark of his success.
After executing King Trevyvyain, Conomor forcibly married his niece, Tegan Trevyvyain. She remains the Queen of Dumnonia today, although her relationship with Conomor has never been good. He has allowed her to remain in Treworenys and rule as the effective Queen of Ynysow Syllan, as long as the islands continue to ship food and other goods to supply Dumnonia's armies.
