Favors
Favors are soft currency which are audited by the Ministry of Finance but in most cases, cannot be used to pay government debts. They fluctuate in value, but were originally intended to replace silver coins.
Type of Favors
Since Favors are not hard currency, they differ wildly across the Demesne. In most areas, Favors are products or services that were arguably worth one silver piece. Ledgers are licensed officials in villages and cities who notarize all Favor transactions. Bartering a newborn piglet in exchange for a dozen of a neighbor's laying hens require notarization by a Ledger, who will report the transaction to the Ministry of Finance during the next audit.
