Ring of Thornes
Led by Danilo Thorne, the Ring is a group of thieves who specialize in high-end artwork. Many important cultural art and artifacts across the content of Nerath have been "appropriated" (stolen) by the Coalition of Progress or destroyed by the Lacunose, government agencies tasked with rewriting history to favor the Queen Mother. The Ring is trying to find where Progress is storing the artifacts so they can eventually pull off a massive heist.
Each member has their own personal reason why they are part of the group and what they want to accomplish:
- Danilo Thorne - half-elf. Wants to find three magical artifacts, that are supposed to grant the user ability to change their history (so they can make a new present/future). (See Below)
- Rusty Raine - halfling. Wants to recruit new members to their team. Eleven sounds like a good, round number. Also wants to recover religious iconography of Avandra, goddess of Luck, Change and Travel. Most have been taken by Progress. (why do you need Luck or Change, if you have the Queen Mother's blessing, they said)
- Linus Codwell - eladrin. Wants to recover any artifacts dedicated to Corellon, the god of beauty, art, magic and fey, and patron of the eladrin.
- Saul Blume - doppleganger. His people doesn't have a unique culture of their own, but appreciates the languages, artwork, architecture, clothing and everyday items used by all species. When the world is a diverse place, the doppleganger has more options on how they can present themselves to the world. In a homogenous society, small imperfections and differences can make one stand out.
- Yen Fortuyn - tabaxi. Yen wants to stop the Youngling Adventurers from indoctrinating the children and turning them into servants of the Queen Mother. His own daughter, Jing Fortuyn is now an adult who would proudly turn her father over to the authorities to gain favor in the cult-like government.
- Frank’t Catton - drow. Frank't is currently in the banking city of Txanponetan, where he successfully convinced Uanna Dezirinda that he was an envoy from King Unibrow of the Granite Hall in the Altaran Peninsula. The heist's plan was to get Uanna to store a chest containing Yen in Txanponetan's Vault, but the plan fell apart when Uanna realized that King Unibrow's throneroom was an illusion. The team does not know the current status of Frank't.
The Flux Nodes
Danilo is searching for three magical artifacts. Together, they are known as the Flux Nodes and are rumored to give one mastery over time. He intends to use them to change the Scales of War so that the Coalition wins, thus wiping out the COMPMOD and all of its organizations. The artifacts are: 1. The Winds of Change. Danilo has a clue that led him to believe the Winds of Change is some sort of artifact hidden in the Vault of someone named "Hex Herbst" in the banking city in the Golden Savannah. Or possibly Hex refers to the person's title or job (warlock?). Danilo isn't 100% sure. The exact clue he got was:Herbst, Hex.... Savannah. "Winds of Change"2. Seed of Spring. The Seed of Spring is held by the druidic lich, the Ghostlord, in Danilo's homeland: the Elsir Vale. The Vale is now a wasteland, its farms destroyed by the war and its forests tainted by the lich's necrotic powers. During the war, the enemy forces called the vale Terrajuncture due to the number of natural portals in the region. 3. Orb of Time. Danilo has no idea what or where it might be. There may be clues in artwork that contain sundials or star charts or... ?
