Txanponetan (zan-PON-eh-ton)

Txanponetan (meaning "in coins" in the dwarven tongue) is a financial hub of the region. Although isolated in the middle of the Golden Savannah, it sits between New Frontier on the east coast and Dwarfgate to the west, a major trade route in years past.

History

The location where Txanponetan now sits used to be a gathering spot for hunters and rangers who roamed the area. The small trading settlement grew when Arkhosian floating fortresses began regularly landing nearby.
Before the Arkhosian-Turathi Wars began, the trading settlement disappeared from the material world for a hundred years. When it suddenly returned, it was a much larger city called Kar'Arnack and was protected by walled fortifications.
The city was spared the disaster of war but lost its tiefling leadership at the fall of the Bael Turath empire. Dwarven investors from out west kept the city in business but increased taxes. Everyone of every race was invited to trade, but the dwarves would not accept grain, fish or other "in-kind" good to pay the sales taxes. "In coins" was the only acceptible form of payment.
