The Melitian Empire

The Melitian empire was the original state of what is currently the Xant empire. The Melitian empire, also known as the Undead Empire in old tales, had an unusual ethical situation regarding the creation of undead beings. Its position disregarded Ba'alNecro's teachings and encouraged the usage of undead slaves and soldiers, sometimes even nigh immediately raising the deceased for the purpose of putting them to work. Over the years of Melitian reign, many things were built using undead slaves, including an underground walkway spanning almost the entire region of Mentila, beginning in its original capital city of Manfilis. The walkway is now defunct by decree of the Xant empire, but some still use it despite the dangerous creatures that lurk in its shadowy tunnels and the criminal groups who would be inevitably drawn to such a hiding spot.

History

The Melitian empire was first founded after the conquering of Mentila's two neighbors, Zallix and Shallum, using unethical NecroMantic methods and guerilla tactics.

Disbandment

About three hundred years after the conquering of Mentila's neighboring, it was reconquered by Zallix, ending its lifespan and instating the Xant empire.
