Tír nAill is the name given to the Fae world. The Fae are the common ancestor of every elf, firbolg, halfling and dwarf, though here, they have different names. Tír nAill is impossible for non-fae folk to navigate and those born outside of Nemorla will struggle as the planes move and shift.
Plains
Tír na nÓg ("land of the young/land of youth")
The heart of Tír nAill and the home of the Tuatha Dé. A paradise of everlasting abundance and joy. It is the land based on Spring, it is always dawn. Sí here become green and a great many flowers bloom upon them depending on their mood.
It is a combination of forest and flowery meadow, with streams full of salmon and a large silver tree that bear golden fruit. You must stay for a period of three – minutes, days, months or years. The plain is actively hostile to non-fae. Anu and (Skerrin) are most commonly found here.
Mag Airtheach ("the plain of bounty")
The land of energy and light. This plain is based off of summer and it is always High Noon. It is a great many hills and valleys and the fae here are exuberant and zealous. It has the most elaborate and dazzling structures. (Mog Ar-tea-och)
Tír Tairngire ("land of promise/promised land")
A land of remembrance and harvest. Here the spirits of great heros and ancestors are said to dwell. It is very sacred to the fae. It is based off of autumn and is always dusk. It is the home of the Fir Bolg, a race of story-tellers and farmers, who can breathe life into any soil. Here is where the púca are said to dwell and where they go to get to Tír na mBeo. (Tear Tarn-Gear-eh)
Mag Findargat("the white-silver plain")
A shimmery and shining plain of snow and frost. This plain is based off of winter, it is always midnight. Fae here become cold and pale blue with snow-white hair and blank eyes. Though harsh, especially to non-fae, it is a bright and bracing plain and the fae here are the most warm and welcoming. Goibhniu is often found here. (Mog Fin-daar-gat)
Tír fo Thuinn ("land under the wave")
An expanse of dazzling clear lake wherein many rivers flows and a great waterfall pours. Through the water there is a stunning underwater valley. The fae here remain bone-dry and behave as if the water is not there. They are blue, with hair like algae and black eyes, they are often covered in pretty shells and shiny stones. Malir is often found here. (Tear fo Huwin)
Mag Mell ("plain of delight")
The paradise of the dead. A muted if somber land of perpetual twilight. The land is populated by Fomoire, a type of fae similar to dark elves who tend to the needs of the spirits that dwell here. No one wants for anything here. It has no ill-effects on non-fae but the rules still apply. Tethra lives here as does Bruadar, King of the Formoire. Cana can also be found here. (Mog Mell)
Mag Ciuin("the gentle plain")
A place of calm and contemplation. The fae here give great guidance and wisdom. The plain itself is often visited by druids where they may receive guidance and wisdom. Dagdir lives here and Ecne is often found here too. (Mog Cuin (like ciúnas)
Mag Ildathach ("the multicoloured plain")
The home of the Aos Sídhe, the fae folk who absorb the Tír na mBeo and transmogrify it into a part of Tír nAill. It is a shimmery and shifting plain that is the most confusing to navigate. It’s King is Donnchadh. (Mog Ill-Dath-ach)
The Fae/The Folk/The Sí
The generic, collective name given to the fae in Nemorla. It includes all types but usually refers to the Aos Sídhe, who are the ancestors of the elves. At one point, some the Sí were often helpful to humans, they were known as “Seelie Fae” to the humans. But once the expansion began, the relationship between the Sí and the humans soured.
Aos Sídhe
The Nemorlan name for Elves of all stripes. They are tall, willowy beings with long pointed ears. The Aos Sídhe are guardians of Tír nAill, created by Dagdir himself. They have highly adaptive physiology that allows them to transform instantly to adapt to their environment. This is why they are often to different looking to one another. They care deeply for nature, as it is a blessing from Tír nAill but are the proudest of all the Sí and the most vengeful.
Bán Sí
Bán Sí are few and far between. They origins are somewhat lost to time but they all live alone and oft in Mog Mell. They are deeply frightening servants of Tethtra and act as reapers, collecting the souls of those who die (the Sluagh) and shepard them to Mog Mell.
Fomoire
In Nemorla there are two kinds of Fomoire, Fomoire Domhain and Fomoire Dorcha. The Fomoire Domhain are quasi-amphibious – on land they appear to be like the Aos Sídhe, though often shorter, and wear upon their person a special garment that allows them to become a sea-dweller creature, such as a seal or dolphin. They are a spirited people and sail the vast under and overwater of Tír fo Thiuin with great relish.
The Fomoire Dorcha resemble Dark Elves and are almost indistinguishable from the Aos Sídhe, except by their pallor (they are usually white haired and dark blue or purple skinned). Unlike the Aos Sídhe however, they are not flashy or pretentious but maudlin and quiet. They want for nothing but peace and, like their ruler are a touch complacent. They were allegedly once warmongers but not now. Now they are quiet.
Púca
The Púca are short, bipedal creatures, with goat-like faces and long, haunches like a hare, dark fur and luminous eyes. Small clans can be found all over Tír nAill but the bulk of them live in Tír Tairngire where they have a love-hate relationship with the Fir Bolg. Púca are the devious sort with a tendancy to cause mischief where they may and often for no good reason (though their favour is easily bought).
Fir Bolg
The Fir Bolg are a race of humanoid creatures with soft-animalistic features. They are the keepers of Nemorla’s history and live simple, pleasant lives in Tír Tairngire. They are farmers by trade and are said to speak to the land as the Aos Sídhe do to the things that live upon it.
Oilliphéist
Big ol’ dragon the “familiar” of Dagdir occasionally sent to do his biding.
Luchthonn
The Luchthonn are curious residents of The Woods. They are werewolves, created when a band of humans sought to attack The Woods some ages past. In their declaration of war, they earned the ire of The Morrigan, who cursed them to live in the wilds are shape-shifting wolves. Since the Luchthonn are among the least liked of the Sí, they have struggled to find sanctuary in The Woods. One clan lives in Tir Tairngire, North of the Fir Bolg settlements where they are content to live off the land and so do not earn the ire of the Fir Bolg. Another clan made a space for themselves in Tír fo Thiuin, where many travel the waters with the Fomoire. A few are loners who have secured curious livings for themselves in more dangerous territory.
