Mt. Sera

In Book 1, it was discovered that atop Mt. Sera was a throne of crystal, connected to a wellspring of power deep beneath the mountain. This power allowed the Aurelian king to summon massive amounts of magical power in defense of the city. After the king was killed, the new king, Albion, promised to never use that power to enslave the nations around Aurelia. Since then, the knowledge of the throne has been kept secret by those who were involved in the killing of the king so as not to attract anyone who might wish to steal that power.
Mt. Sera links the four mountain chains and the Twin Continents together. Because of its unique positioning and the mythology around it, the mountain is considered holy by many of the nations surrounding it.    Some myths state that this mountain served as the seat of the Allfather when he pronounced judgment on Scuros. Other myths claim that great power is sealed beneath the mountain. Regardless, for almost two millennia, no nation has dared build a city on the slopes of the mountain.   The seven nation races have built their cities four-hundred and ninety - a sacred number for some unknown reason - away and around the mountain, as it was believed that they would all receive equal measures of blessings and power from the mountain. During the Great Human-Elf War, the humans and elves fought over who would take ultimate control of the mountain, resulting in a hundred years of bloodshed and no victor.    After the Great War, the Aurelians - a half-human, half-elf civilization - settled on the slopes of the mountain and built their city.

Geography

Mt. Sera is a single promontory mountain with gentle sloping sides leading up to a circular peak. From the peak of the mountain flow two rivers, one which feeds the river to the west and one which feed the river to the east. The slope of the mountain begins to level out near the bottom where it joins with various hills around the rivers and the mountain. The hills around the mountain are very fertile, perfect for crops or grazing animals.

Natural Resources

From the top of the mountain flows two rivers, one to the east and one to the west, which feed fertile valleys and hillsides. The mountain side itself is covered in forests, dividing the civilization below from the stony peak above.
