Electrothermal-chemical technology

Electrothermal-chemical technology is a firearms technology that utilizes a high voltage pulse to plasmaize the propellant while the gun is fired. This type of propellant has the advantage of producing a more powerful explosion compared to conventional counterparts. However, it comes with drawbacks such as significant recoils and the formation of a considerable plume of superheated plasma that extends from the barrel. In the case of large caliber weapons, this plume can extend several meters in length and poses a potential risk of igniting flammable materials.
