The Heartswell Grapes

Long ago, when humankind was new to the world, a feud erupted between Aeloria, the Heartswell, goddess of Love, Fertility, Alcohol, and Community, and Sylvoria, the Verdant Mother, goddess of Forest, Nature, Growth, Renewal, and Balance. Aeloria, seeking to infuse the world with her divine love, attempted to create a plant that, when consumed, would make the consumer fall deeply in love with the first person of the opposite gender they laid eyes upon. Sylvoria, ever the guardian of nature’s balance, thwarted Aeloria's efforts each time, catching her a total of sixteen times. On the sixteenth attempt, Aeloria brazenly broke into Sylvoria’s sacred Verdant Garden. Furious, Sylvoria caused golden vines to erupt from the ground, entangling Aeloria and condemning her to a thousand years of imprisonment in the garden.   Weeks passed before the other gods noticed Aeloria's absence. Their questions went unanswered, and months slipped by with Aeloria still missing. It was Sylvoria's twin brother, Silvarion, the Wildtracker, god of the Hunt and Nature, who eventually discovered Aeloria imprisoned in the sacred garden. Outraged by his sister's actions, Silvarion freed Aeloria and together, they infused Sylvoria’s favorite grape patch with Aeloria's divine love magic.   The pair then stormed into the temple where the gods were gathered. Shock rippled through the assembly, but none were more stunned than Sylvoria. When the tale was told to Ezien, the King of the Gods, he condemned Sylvoria and decreed that these enchanted grapes must grow in the mortal realm. Begrudgingly, Sylvoria complied, but she altered the grapes with her own divine nature magic. Now, their enchantment would only activate if the grapes were turned into wine.   In the mortal world, these rare grapes can be found in the most verdant forests. When fermented into wine, not only is it the most delicious in all the lands, but it also causes the drinker to fall in love with the first humanoid they lay their gaze upon
