Venir (Of Vanaheim)
The inhabitants of Vanaheim are known as the Venir. The Venir spent ages under Aesir occupation. They were treated as second class citizens and employed by the Aesir for their unique abilities in divination and telepathy, an ability granted to them by their Mind Worldsoul Even though they were under oppression, the Venir made no attempts at resistance. With the same powers that the Aesir coveted, the Venir were able to see what fate awaited their foreign rulers. It was the Venir that first foresaw Ragnarök’s destructive wake, and the Venir that patiently waited for their freedom. When their visions proved correct, the Venir were primed to launch themselves into a golden age. Now they have grown into a strong civilization rivaling even the Old Aesir in glory, but with a very important difference; The Venir have no lust for power. They are a grateful and patient people, that now seek to understand before being understood, having learned that lesson the hard way in the Aesir-Venir War. They had lived in peace for ages, until one day the ancient Bifrost gate they had kept as a memorial began to shudder and flash with colorful lights once more. The Venir knew this day would come, but could not answer how to respond. Most feel they should leave well enough alone and never look back, but others hear a strange call luring them to the gate. Could it be the Norns calling forth a new age of heroes? Or is this yet another of the Aesir’s many tricks?
