The Nordmark

266 A.K. - The Month of Kadxemmon

Stretching from the Endless Ocean in the west to the vast Hobbian Steppe in the east lies an area known as the Nordmark, derived from it's former nomenclature 'The Northern Marches'. It is a realm filled to the brim with ruins, treasure, monsters, adventure, mystery and (mostly) danger.   Somewhere close to the border of the Nordmark lies the small - mostly ruined - village of Derksmalt. The local authorities in the form of the noble House Reitzov have declared the village and surrounding area a 'free march', giving every visitor land and construction rights for the forseeable time in the area.   These two facts were why luck-seekers, outcasts, criminals, adventurers and other misfits now flocked to Derksmalt and the nearby Old Don. The curse that fell upon them is why they stayed. They do not know what binds them to the old donjon, only that they cannot leave.   The Nordmark and the rest of Oidakaros stirs as the repeat of the apocalypse of ancient myth known as The Eternal Night is prophesized by doomspeakers and predicted by archmages alike. The end is coming soon, and for those who find themselves bound by the curse of the Old Don, this means they must find a way to break their arcane chains or artifice a fabled magical machine known as a Aegis Lux to weather the storm.
