The Crazed Cook

"The Crazed Cook" is one of the tall tales of Mad Man Eddy Fry-er. Mad Man Eddy Fry-er was known for these kinds of tall tale limericks that he liked to share with his friends, family, and enemies. If criminals can be trusted, most say that he began doing these limericks at a young age. Most of them were nonsensical and were a mish-mash of random rhyming words. However, as time went on the limericks got longer and much more complicated.

Summary

"The Crazed Cook" was one of his first sensical limericks. Telling the story of the cook Chef Ashg AKA the owner of the restaurant, 3380. Apparently, the cook had gone mad and decided to poison the brook, because he thought the people were being overly critical of his meals.

Chef Ashg offended at the people thought they should get a taste of their own medicine. The people had poisoned his love for cooking, so he was going to poison them.

The ending line tells what happened to Chef Ashg. He enjoyed poisoning the people so much he decided to do it again, and "henceforth became a crook."

Historical Basis

No one is sure if anything Mad Man Eddy Fry-er says is true. Most assume that his limericks are 100% made-up. However, there have been entire towns killed off in various ways throughout history and criminal history, including poison.

Whether this was just the inspiration for the limerick or an actual retelling of the historical event, Mad Man Eddy Fry-er never clarified. Although, if he did, I doubt anyone would believe him. He was called "Man Man" for a reason.
