Alterations
The stone structure itself went largely unaltered for it's almost 1300 year history. The Interior was designed to be high alterable with false walls of various designs and materials, depending on what was needed. Some acts held real danger, wild animal's and the like, so walls that could resist and contain say a rampaging witch panther were needed for that.
Architecture
Constucted of marble of different hues to make it a rainbow that gleamed in the sunlight and almost glowed at night with large Guild glowstones placed every ten paces. It was a large oval that was approx 350 meters long and, at it's widest, 200 meters. The outer wall was 55 meters high and marked the back of stone stadium seating that encircled the entirety of the building. This was for when major events were held on the main floor. For everyday use the main floor was filled with set display's, acts and games marked by temporary buildings and tents. Under the stadium seating were the offices, workshops, living quarters, kitchens, meeting rooms and storage for those who worked and lived at the Jade Circus
Defenses
Imperial Guards guarded every entrance and exit and patroled around the clock. The gates were constructed by the Imperial Artisan's Guild and could withstand the mightiest battering ram.
The strongroom doors and walls were also of Guild make and had a standing guard of a squad of Shadowguards.
History
When the entire continent was under Imperial control, finalized when Winterholme finally submitted in 1258 BF, Empress Helleny II wished something grand to celebrate it. The Jade Circus was envisioned and designed and constuction began in the spring of 1257 BF. It took five years to build. During that time Vectari Loen was named the first Mistress of Revels. She organized and staffed the circus and eall was in ready for it's Grand Opening.
The Grand Opening was attended by representatives from every kingdom, city/state and people of Empire. The Empress also made an appearence to officially open the Jade Circus.
For the next twelve hundred years the Jade Circus hosted four common revels a week and every month a grand Revel was held with every stadium seat filled. Every new Empress or Emperor also hosted an Imperial Revel on the anniversary of their coronation. When The Empire the gates to the Jade Circus were barred for a year until Caleio, cousin to Goval VI, took Mor Daven and crowned himself Emperer Val XXVII. He ordered the Jade Circu His daughter, Lendela, loathed her father and with the assistance of her husband, Prince Tain Sciblayed, raised an army. Early in the winter of 2 AF they marched on Mor Daven and did not lay a siege. The set up catapults and with barrels of flaming pitch set fire to both the Capital and the Jade Circus. Both burned for days and the loss of life was north of one million. Everyone who fled the city or the Circus was captured and identified to ensure it was not Lendela's father. He was captured fleeing the Jade Circus, thinking to hide among the performers.
He was hung in the ruins of the Jade Circus and his body left to rot.
