Magic Items that had been enchanted to last longer, both the enchantments and the physical item enchanted as well, began being delivered with the tithe in 1527 BF during the early reign of Shontella the Implacable

Life & Expiration

That has varied over the centures. Some items seemed to be able to last centuries with no degredation of either enchantment or the bespelled item while other would fade over time. A time that got longer and longer. By the second millenia every item that the the Imperial Artisan's Guild sent with the Tithe was enchanted with a Negontrophy Field. One of the few named affects known outside of the Imperial Forges

History & Usage

History

The name of this particular enchantment was first learned when Emperor Solveris VI summoned the Guildmaster of The Imperial Artisan's Guild to answer a question. A cloak that allowed the wearer to be unaffected by any weather no matter how foul and even hurricane winds will not move them had been a favorite of Emperor Cunitai II, Solveris' grandfather. When the Emperor had selected it for his Personal Colection he had noted it seemed almost brand new despite extended use by his grandfather in his younger days. He asked the Grandmaster if this was unique to this cloak. The Grandmaster considered for a moment, according to Imperial History, considered then informed the Emperor that it was not. A specific magic was being perfected to protect the enchantments and the items from entrophy from either time or elements. The Emperor asked if this magic had a name. Negontrophy Field was provided and no other information. The contract between the Holder of the Imperial Throne and the Imperial Artisan's Guild was very specific that no secrets of how items would be revealed and the Holder of the Imperial Throne would respect this. The Emperor nodded in thanks at the gift of not only acknowledging the answer and additional answer of the name itself. Some in the Court had heard the exchange and it was soon known. How the Guild felt about this knowledge among the populous was unknown since no one dared asked them. How the Negontrophy Field works is known only the Guild Members itself
