Pelican Island
Relatively little is known of the current status of Pelican Island.
When it was discovered, Pelican Island was found to be a semi-volcanic wasteland nearly devoid of trees, source of fresh water, and terrestrial food-stock animals.
All of the qualities made it the perfect dumping ground for the Bards that were despised near continent-wide. Port cities on the continent empty their prisons of Bards on a periodic basis and load them onto transport ships bound for Pelican Island. On the arrival off-shore, the Bards are forced off the ship and must swim for land.
Visiting the island or assisting inhabitants off the island are crimes that are generally punishable by death. The the island lacks suitable trees for making boats or rafts, escape from the island is believe to be extremely unlikely.
