Ley-Lhyandir

The home of the Ink Elves, Ley-Lhyandir is another of the great Elven spires. Reaching high up toward the sky, the spire is around six thousand feet tall with a radius of just over five miles. Within live the many Ink Elf families, the three Old Families, and the Matron herself, the rules of the Ink Elves.   Ley-Lhyandir is run through a matriarchal society, with beauty, especially female beauty, being the mark of high society. Males are viewed as far too emotional and irrational to deal with the importance of politics, being too quick to anger and with egos far too large to be intelligent enough to make informed decisions. This has led to the male Elves of the spire, especially those from lower families, to be forced into menial tasks, such as farmers or man-servants. Meanwhile, the highest-ranking females from the Old Families and some from the lesser families focus on leading, learning magic and practising the arts.   Art and beauty are at the centre of society within Ley-Lhyandir. How beautiful a person looks, how well decorated they are and how detailed their clothing is determines how a person is treated within the Ink Elves society. Most Elves cover themselves in beautiful, arcane tattoos that amplify their beauty as well as provide them with unique magical abilities. The higher the rank, the less clothing one is expected to wear, allowing their natural and decorated body to speak for itself. The Matron is at the top of this hierarchy, in complete and absolute power, though informed by the highest-ranking female of the Old Families. There is extensive bickering within Ley-Lhyandir, with many lesser families attempting to screw each other over in order to gain more popularity, and with many attempting to marry upward to gain more political influence throughout the spire.
