Druidic Sects

Druidism follows a huge variety of sometimes conflicting paths, but are all centered around a reverence for Eberron herself, and a respect for the land and the cycles of nature. Some traditions trace their roots back to thousands of years before humans came to Khorvaire, others to the dragons, and others to the remote planes of the universe. Major sects include:
  • The Wardens of the Wood are the most influential group, and form the de facto government of the Eldeen Reaches. The most accepting of industry, they seek to maintain a balance between civilization and nature.
  • Moonspeakers are a shifter tradition, guided by the twelve moons of Eberron. Powerful and versatile spellcasters, they are respected shifter community leaders, known for weaving their magic into their own bodies as they extend and enhance their shifting ability.
  • The Ashbound are an extremist order, who consider all magic outside druidic practice to be unnatural, and oppose the consumption of the land through agriculture and construction. Their most extreme elements have been known to turn to violence to get their way.
  • Greensingers are native to the Eldeen Reaches. They revere the fey as personifications of nature, are known for their skill with plants, and follow chaotic, wild traditions known for their revelry.
  • Gatekeepers are an orcish sect originating in the Shadow Marches. They trace their roots back to Vvaarark, an ancient black dragon they claim taught their ancestors the secrets of druidic magic millennia ago. They seek to defend nature against unnatural forces, especially aberrations and other extraplanar beings.
  • Mask Weavers are a halfling sect that follow the old ways of the Talenta Plains tribes. They act as storytellers and historians for their people, experts of oral tradition, and are known for the crafting of masks to preserve the spirits of their people and their animal companions after death.
  • Sela's Path are a minor sect based out of House Lyrandar. Almost entirely half-elven, they focus on the sky and the weather, and maintaining cycles of nature despite Lyrandar's weather manipulation.
  • Siyal Marrain are an order of the Valenar elves, maintainers of the horses so critical to their culture. They trace their lineage back to warriors who fought against the ancient giants of the Su'lat League, and work to preserve their horse's bloodlines, keep them healthy, and select mounts and riders for their warriors.
  • The Children of Winter are the darkest of Khorvaire's sects. Believers that the cycle of nature must include destruction, and that the current age is coming to an end - or must be brought to one. They seek to use druidic magic, disease and famine to bring nature's wrath to civilization. They claim that a harsh, desperate winter is coming, and that the strongest will inherit the world in the spring that follows it.
