Jaela Daran

Jaela Daran is The Keeper of the Flame, the highest ranking member of the Church of the Silver Flame, spiritual leader of the Church and of Thrane, and considered to be the most holy individual by the Purified. She has held this rank since age 6, when she was chosen for the position through divination, and now at 19 she is finally coming into her own as a leader.
Considered to be almost unearthly, she's spent most of her life suffused with divine power, and with her worldly needs taken care of. As a result, she is known to be extremely unconcerned with the physical, more inclined to roam the Cathedral without shoes than don her robes of office.
Some criticize her for being too naive to rule a nation and a church, and as a result she has relied heavily on the High Cardinals to support her and handle matters of state. As a child, there were also concerns with the amount of personal divine power she controls - as Keeper of the Flame, she has wielded enough power to see into the future and resurrect the dead - but, this is limited to when she is within a few miles of the Flame itself.
Nonetheless, she is immensely popular in her country, and her complete lack of scandal, corruption or guile has led the faithful to see her as a pure symbol of their faith at its best.
