Faceless

Home
The Faceless were developed in the Northern regions during the Unity Civil War as a solution to the dwindling population. Their creation marked a turning point, leading to the rise of the Northern Unity and helping end the war. Now, the Faceless are fully integrated into the urban and industrial landscape of Prolitaria, a highly organized society focused on labor and collective effort. They reside in cities designed to optimize both their abilities and those of organic citizens.
Ethnicity
As sentient creations, the Faceless do not possess traditional ethnicity but are living metal plasmoids with a neural processor the size of a golf ball, acting as their brain. They are capable of changing their density to adapt to their environment, though this ability is somewhat uncontrolled. Their form is fluid, able to fit into any space large enough for their neural processor, making them incredibly versatile in labor and societal roles.
Religion
While Prolitaria follows secular Drelinist principles, religious practice is not explicitly banned. However, the emphasis on secularism has led to sparse religious activity, and openly evangelizing is considered rude. The Faceless, being sentient machines, do not inherently follow any religious practices, though they respect the societal norms of Prolitaria. Their purpose and existence are more closely tied to labor and civic contribution, aligning with the non-theistic values of the Northern Unity.
Intelligence
The Faceless possess a high level of intelligence, particularly when it comes to technological and civic roles. Their neural processors allow them to operate efficiently in a variety of labor tasks, and their ability to adapt physically gives them an edge in industrial and technological sectors. Their creation has been seen as a "gift of unintended innovation," and they have helped propel the Northern Unity forward in infrastructure, technology, and societal organization.
Appearance
The Faceless resemble living metal plasmoids with a golf ball-sized neural processor that acts as their brain. They can change their density, allowing them to fit into any space that accommodates their processor, though this ability is somewhat uncontrolled. Their fluid, metallic form enables them to perform tasks that organic beings cannot, making them highly adaptable in Prolitarian society. Their appearance is both practical and symbolic of the merger between technology and organic life in the Northern Unity.
Tradition
The customs of Prolitaria are heavily influenced by labor, with societal worth measured by contributions to the collective good. The Faceless have seamlessly integrated into this culture, blending their technological capabilities with the organic practices of Prolitarian citizens. Their ability to adapt physically and intellectually has led to new labor and societal traditions, with the Faceless playing a central role in the workforce. Their presence has also influenced the development of new traditions that celebrate the union of organic and technological life.
