Hobgoblins

Home
Hobgoblins, originally exiled Sun Elves due to seeking unionization, migrated to the northern region of Fromata after the second schism of the Holy See. They thrived in a more favorable environment in their new home and found their place within Northern cultures. Their roles as laborers and soldiers allowed them to integrate seamlessly into the social and military fabric of the region, particularly influencing the rise of Drelinist doctrine and Northern Unity.
Ethnicity
The Hobgoblins, descendants of Sun Elves, are shorter than their ancestors but taller than humans. They share similar proportions to other goblinkin. Their limbs are disproportionately long compared to their brief but wide torsos. They possess blocky heads, broad brows, and orange skin, giving them a distinctive appearance. Despite their physical changes, they maintain a strong sense of identity rooted in the cause of their exile
Religion
While the Hobgoblins were once followers of Lolth, their religious practices have likely shifted or diminished over time, especially after their integration into Northern cultures. Many Hobgoblins have adopted the secular Drelinist principles of Northern Unity, focusing on labor, contribution, and societal advancement. However, small sects of Lolth worshippers may still exist, keeping the old beliefs secret. After the founding of Gormant's lordship, a large swath began to worship fervently, some even migrating to Mulath to work in her smithy.
Intelligence
Hobgoblins are known for their tactical and artistic brilliance, particularly in warfare. Their shock-and-awe tactics, developed during their early conflicts, have merged well with Voaian military doctrine. In addition to their military acumen, Hobgoblins are practical and efficient laborers, contributing significantly to the infrastructure and development of Northern societies. Their adaptability and strategic thinking have made them valuable assets on the battlefield and in the workforce. Their roots as sun-elven producers and laborers have given them a long line of skills and techniques that aid them in producing efficient, quality products.
Appearance
Hobgoblins have orange skin, blocky heads, and broad brows, with disproportionately long limbs compared to their short, broad torsos. They are taller than humans but shorter than their Sun Elven ancestors, and their muscular, stocky builds reflect their roles as soldiers and laborers. This distinct appearance sets them apart from their Sun Elven roots and human neighbors, giving them a recognizable presence in Northern culture.
Tradition
Hobgoblins have developed a culture centered around military prowess and labor. Their shock-and-awe tactics, combined with their contributions as skilled workers, have become integral to Northern societies. The Hobgoblin military tradition is one of discipline, strategy, and efficiency, which has helped solidify their role as key players in the Northern Unity's rise to power. Their labor traditions emphasize practicality and endurance, reflecting their value as a critical workforce in the North, and their esteem craftsmanship held up the North physically and economically.
