Nods

Home
The Nods, as the progenitors of human races, originally thrived in various wild regions before settling in more structured environments. Their early days were spent in tribal societies, deeply connected to the natural world. As they evolved, their territories expanded, particularly after contact with more advanced civilizations like the Sun Elves and Snow Elves, which influenced their development.
Ethnicity
The Nods, though ape-like in appearance, represent the earliest human ancestors. Over time, their descendants diversified into various human species, each adapting to different environments and societal structures. Their early cultures were simple and tribal, but these beginnings laid the groundwork for the myriad of human ethnicities that would later emerge. The influence of outside civilizations, such as the Sun Elves and the Vathmirian Empire, played a significant role in shaping these groups.
Religion
In their early tribal states, the Nods likely held animistic beliefs, worshiping the spirits of nature and the creatures they hunted. After their interaction with the Sun Elves and the Vathmirian Empire, some of their religious views would have been influenced by these more advanced societies. The Nods' early spiritual framework centered around the Lord of the Hunt, Enic, who played a pivotal role in their origins, having tricked their primordial ancestors.
Intelligence
The Nods, while initially simple and tribal, demonstrated adaptability and a capacity for significant development. Their great leap forward came as a result of Sun Elven expeditions, which brought knowledge of agriculture, metallurgy, and more structured forms of governance. This advancement was further shaped by the invasion of the Vathmirian Empire, which, through enslavement, forced the Nods to adapt to new technologies and methods of survival. Their capacity to evolve culturally and intellectually made them the ancestors of the complex human societies that followed.
Appearance
The Nods were physically distinct from modern humans, with more pronounced ape-like features. They had pronounced muzzles, jutting brows, and were more robust in their build. These features gradually diminished as they evolved and diversified into the various human species. The remnants of their physical traits are occasionally seen in some human ethnicities, but for the most part, the Nods’ appearance has faded into the past as their descendants have become more refined and adapted to their respective environments.
Tradition
Nod traditions were rooted in tribalism, with a focus on survival, hunting, and living in harmony with nature. Their early practices were likely tied to rituals honoring Enic, the Lord of the Hunt, who played a significant role in their creation. As they encountered the Sun Elves and Snow Elves, many of their traditions were either lost or altered through cultural exchange, conquest, and enslavement. However, their core values of adaptability, survival, and resilience remained and were passed down through their descendants.
