The Arcanist Coalition
Purpose: Acts as the governing and representative body for those who study the Arcane whether it be Solar, Necram, and/or the Chaotic Weave
Influence: Arcanists are at the forefront of magical innovations in rituals and spells. Arcanists are also needed for their intelligence and aptitude to teach the arcane and other disciplines.
Leadership: A council of Arch-Maguses governs over different chapters on each continent, with two in Fromata (North and South)
Membership: The Coalition gains its members through its many schools, the biggest being Exultar. Students who enroll are automatic members and are expected to contribute to the Coalition throughout their time.
Rituals and Symbols: Students must complete several research cycles, ending with a capstone, which entails demonstrating their attitude toward their local Arch-Maguses. After their capstone, They must travel to some town or settlement to educate their youth and scout for magical potential for 4 years. After their time away, they are the Magi, Wizards, Clever men, or whatever their culture calls mages. Along with that, those who have completed their time with their post, recieve a grimoire that empowers their specialized school of magic or their bond to their magic if aquired from a patron, the arts, or their blood. If a grimoire holder were to become significanly more skilled, then they may contend in the "Tourney of the Beholder". The toruney is a competetion to determine who will be able to challenge a sitting Arch-Magus for their seat. The challenge that follows end with either the challenger or the challenged being turned into a book with all of their greatest ideas and feats and being put in Exultar's library for eternity.
Titles and Recognition: The coalition mainly runs off of magical ability rather than politics. The only ranks within the Coalition are the students, those who completed their capstone, those whove recieved their grimoires, and finally the Arch-Maguses.
Internal Conflict and Politics: The conflicts within the Coalition range from petty disputes between differing schools of magic, all the way to closing certain races off of the schools all together. Others debate on the exculsion or inclusion of Krell worshipers, some want the schools to remain secular, while most follow the "teachings" of Exultar like its their holy text.
