Baranth’s Crossing

Baranth’s Crossing spans a southern section of the Elmspring Run, a tributary of the the Neverwinter River. Named after Baranth the Bold, a legendary hero who once defended the region from marauding Ogre tribes, the bridge was a vital link in the trade routes between frontier settlements and Neverwinter. Constructed during the height of the ancient The Phandelver Pact, the bridge has seen countless caravans and travelers pass over its sturdy stonework. Over the centuries, it became a site of skirmishes and strategic importance, often contested during conflicts. As the surrounding region fell into decline, the guard posts of the bridge were gradually abandoned, its original name fading into obscurity. With the arrival of the Trolls and other wildfolk, the bridge’s storied past is overshadowed by its current perilous state.
