SummerCamp 2019 | It's a Start!

Trying something new this year! Finally building up the world I've envisioned for a long, long time!
— Heading into SummerCamp 2019
This article is all about reflecting on my adventures during SummerCamp 2019! This was my very first SummerCamp, and my second WorldAnvil challenge, so I was understandably nervous and not sure what would come out of it. I had a lot of fun, though! A lot of cool things came out of this SummerCamp, many of which remained unchanged and important for years ahead!

Cultivating a World

My WorldAnvil adventure was yet fresh at this point, and so I had very little to work with. Which really means I had a lot to work with! The possibilities were endless, so I explored them the best I could!   I focused on the "golden trio" of regions I began my world with, which started as Terramarre (now the Kingdom of Arsavela), Uris Braena, and The Hearthwood (now Nimavi). I branched out a bit to another far-off region Stykker. These areas have since seen their own varying degrees of individual development, and continue to be a set of regions I often write new content for.

My Thoughts

This SummerCamp set me up for a lot of future writing, giving me ample blanks to fill and content to build off of. I suppose that is how all of these challenges really go in the end, but this was the start! This event, plus my work from WorldEmber got me going.   I didn't make too much that I was explicitly proud of this year, and I didn't make it to the end, but again these articles served as great building blocks for better things down the road. I'll call my favorite of this year Glacial Fern. It was the article I worked on, I think, the longest, and enjoyed the concept of most!
Our first ever SummerCamp run! The start to something wonderful!

Topics Covered
Terramarre, Hearthwood, Uris Braena, Nimatan customs, Boharin settlements, Gold Port
