SummerCamp 2020 | Going Wide

This year, we're writing about anything that comes to mind. Anything. The big things, the little things. That one bug that people farm for candy! Anything goes. Let's just make this fun!
— Thoughts about my process in 2020
This article is all about reflecting on my adventures during SummerCamp 2020! What better time to do it than the evening before SummerCamp 2021 formally begins? Since I'm here from the future, writing about this past event, I can write out my insights and what I learned from SummerCamp back in 2020, and talk about what I've decided to do differently moving forward!

A Dash of Everything!

My approach to the prompts this year was simple: I'm writing about the very first thing that comes to my mind! Because of this, I ended up with a wide array of articles on different themes, different places of my world, different people, you name it! This wasn't a bad thing, by any means; on the contrary, this wide spread of article topics has actually left me with a lot of ground to cover in the future, with each article acting as a post to connect new chain links to.

Thinking Ahead

Moving forward, however, I do want my themes to be more consistent, and to stick with topics that relate to one another in some way to keep my event plans organized. What I've ended up with, then, is this approach being implemented in SummerCamp 2021's plans, where my worldbuilding will be centered around one race: the Iskani!   In the end, I am just proud of myself for having completed all of the prompts given in 2020, given how difficult the year itself was. In the future, I will be coming in far more prepared, and ever-eager to write and to create more content for this world!
Our first diamond SummerCamp run! And it certainly won't be our last, if I can help it!
