History

The Desolation of Duhg

In Deepwinter of 1489, a verbeeg known as Duhg took residence in a cave on the eastern edge of the Dire Forest, by The Claw of Winter the verbeeg had become confident enough to steal from Good Mead, and began raiding trade shipments. Duhg invaded Good Mead for the first time on the 2nd of Alturiak, taking five barrels of valuable honey mead and killing Speaker Kendrik Rielsbarrow, before retreating to the forest. Four days later, the newly formed Marked of Oyaminartok raided Duhg's lair and retrieved the stolen goods, before leaving the town.
On the 8th of Alturiak Duhg began a series of raids on the town, each night with increasing furvour. This continued until fortuitously the Marked returned to organise a successful ambush for the verbeeg, assisted by Hlin Trollbane, Isla Thergood, and the town's militia.
