The Web
The Web is a series of nodes that connect the various Worlds of The Pontision System to one another. It was first designed by Malum Auctori and Mundi in a collaborative effort. After its construction it was then spread to the rest of the galaxy. The Web has been active and operational for 40 years, with a three year period of on-boarding the various Worlds in the galaxy.

The only World that currently is not a part of The Web is Yilvyke. 8 years ago, Yilvyke destroyed the nodes that connected themselves to the rest of the galaxy.
The Web's nodes use technology that propels space-faring vehicles into lightspeed so that they can travel to different solar systems in a matter of hours. When ships are in transit in this way they are travelling along one of The Web's "strings". These nodes allow ships to reach other solar systems in roughly one hour, an incredible feat of science and engineering. However, there are some limitations to this technology. Each node requires a second node at the location that it wishes to reach to "catch" the ship and bring it out of lightspeed. Therefore, people can't travel to any location in the galaxy, only those that also have a node. Further, the nodes have a limited reach, meaning that not every node directly connects to one another. For example, if someone wanted to travel from Telea to Donerth, they would have to travel to either Mundi or Otiosus first and then travel through one of their nodes to arrive at Donerth.
Generally speaking, each node has 200 strings that can be used to travel to or from a given World. However, this has created multiple bottlenecks for those engaging in interstellar travel, making a trip that would usually last for only an hour take anywhere from four hours to one hundred and fifty hours. This issue has only been exasperated by the Yilvykian clans that roam between various solar systems since The Split. To accommodate for this issue, Mundi's General Massive Systems have begun expanding the number of strings that major nodes contain. Because of this, the Mundi-Malum Auctori and Mundi-Telea nodes both have 2000 strings. GMS is currently attempting to expand the other nodes that connect to Mundi.
There is a precedent of different Worlds travelling to one another without the assistance of The Web. Prior to The Web's construction Mundi began delivering goods and resources to Otiosus due the dire situation they found themselves in. They also famously travelled to Chatibos to deliver the design and parts of a node and so that they could construct it (as they were not technologically advanced enough to do so on their lonesome), believing that they deserved to be allowed to participate in the Pontision Systems' intergalactic politics. Telea sent an envoy to its closest neighbour, Yilvyke, with important cultural items as a show of goodwill. Infamously, Telea's attempt to reach Yilvyke after it detached itself from The Web was met with extreme hostilities. Since then, there has not been any attempt to traverse to another solar system by any mode of transport other than The Web.
