Session 38 - New Beginnings

General Summary

Session starts; 4th of Konelia (Blooming Month) Earth Day.

Welcoming new players into the world:

Futurewolf, Kiwi4BBQ, NicolasRage, & Tallweedian.

New Characters are birthed into the setting; beginning in Eastdale and standing in the Market Square.
A man is shackle-bound to the pillory near the stage.
Ser Haldric de Luisignon marches from the Red Temple towards the square.
He addresses the crowd and warns by Order of the The RedLaws, the sewers are not to be entered. More than a dozen souls have been lost to the sewers in the recent weeks; as such this man will serve as notice to all who break the Red Laws. None are above punishment, we will do what we must to protect the citizens of Eastdale.

Morning Announcments

Radloc Hudson calms and addresses the crowd. last week's festival of the thaw was a great success. Thank you to members of The Flaming Oath for your aid; your deeds will be remembered for days to come.
Hudson’s Grey Company is sponsoring the aid of the largest supply caravan yet to Westkeep - (50gp for the round trip)(75g if unharmed and undelayed).
The first great boar of the season has been spotted, as is tradition; the first amongst us to bring back a great boar will receive this season's honorary title "title of Boar Hunter for the year"
As a final note; Guildmaster Thorin Stonehand of the The Stonewarden Brotherhood has forbidden all from entering the Sewers; the maggots grow fierce and we have lost too many lives. Word is being dispatched to Threshold for the aid of capable heroes to rid the sewers of this threat.

Druld helps the man and heals his wounds. He is later found to be Cedric the Sly a prominent member of the Dark Eyes - Thieves Guild.

Preprations to depart Eastdale with (20) commoners & (1) young adventure. (2) material carts for Westkeep and (1) expedition cart for supplies. The journey is expected to take 3 days if the roads are favorable. (1) commoner flees in fear before the mission even begins.
Headed out the west gate and along the gauntlet road into HEX - 0813
At a crossroads of the lumber camp nearest to Eastdale, the party does not stop but presses on.
Just at the edge of the swamp a large still green tree is felled onto the path. In front of that tree large rocks are placed in the cart path.
One rock is a crude burlap/paper mache shell that hides a huge rusted bear trap.
A simple mans life is taken; Druld eases his passing and prevents raising alarm.
Horn builds a ramp over the log instead of cutting their way through.
While noise was avoided due to not clearing the roadblock; the last cart suffered a broken axle.
Osgar Cazyach suggests to use this broken cart as "bait" and look elsewhere for a safe place to set up camp.
Druld shares a campfire tale.
During the moments after this tale of a monastery deep in the heart of the mountain and abandoned home a dead swamp goblin is tossed from the rocky overhang overhead and lands next to a campfire.
