Mythology & Lore
At the beginning of creation before the sun first saw and the world drew breath The Mother and the Lover stood apart, nemeses, fighting for dominion over the uncreated universe below them, so they made a wager, who could create first would win. Except they were both created equally. So one day the Lover declared "we are equal creators but who is the better unmaker?" and so they began. The lover started to outpace the Mother and in his blind joy failed to see the carnage he wracked, the permanent destruction he imposed upon creation. So the Mother intervened, restrained his folly and as he saw the error of his ways submitted himself to the Mother. What the Mother saw was not wilful evil but the ignorance of youth, which she found enticing. At that moment, as she accepted his titles the two fell into a moment of passion that would give birth to the Daughter. Wanting to give the Daughter a realm of her own to govern and steward the Mother and Lover created Kitan and filled it with creations. But the Daughter went a step further, in her ignorance of wisdom she created flawed imitations of the Mother and the Lover, the Abetra, but they were folly, they each chose whether they wanted to be Mother or Lover and clashed because of this fluidity and so the Mother and the Lover created the Kitari to model the true relationship.
