In 2340 the UNV Fateful (PKG-128), a now-defunct Resoluteclass extended patrol corvette, responded to a distress call 500,000 kilometres from the redline. Over the next sixty-one hours, the collective commands of the USG and the Union Military would be introduced to a computerised weapon of war created for a conflict long past and intent on never being discarded by biological life ever again. Over the next eight months, the Concealers infiltrated, struck, and systematically dismantled the Imperial Union and the Taskforce in one of the bloodiest conflicts ever seen. The Concealer onslaught would only be stopped through a combination of concerted denying actions and a directed computer assault on the commune’s central collective. With the end of the conflict came a complete overhaul of both the USG and UIRs reliance on networking, automation, and artificial intelligence which would lead to the complete rejection and isolation of the Unified Security Group from the public eye for the foreseeable century.
