Escape from Mos Shuuta Report
General Summary
The session opens with the characters hidden backstage at The Dirty Womb Rat with Adarla Nune the dancer. Only R-00M-8A remains visible on the stage pretending to be a statue of a robot.
Teemo's gamoreans begin to investigate the cantina looking for Lowrick, but only manage to rough up and drag out the few patrons who stayed behind and didn't try to hide. Chud hides behind the bar, but is found quickly. He tells the gamorreans that he's the last person in the cantina. The drag him out and leave 3 guards behind in case anyone new tries to hide. 2 of them begin to investigate R00m-8a who successfully fools them into thinking there's a medical emergency he needs to attend to and begin to march him out of the bar. Behind the stage, Stolis pretends to call for help while Adarla and Yana Zham formulate a strategy to fool the guards if they come back there. One does and Yana attempts a slashing attack while R00m-8a attempts to bash the other guard on the other side of the wall. The gamorrean's tough hide is slashed, but doesn't do enough damage to slow it down. Rem Velus aims his CDEF Blaster Pistol and dispatches him in one shot. Stolis uses the element of surprise from cover to wound another gamorrean. R00m-8a tries to take advantage of the surprise by getting the gamorrean in a head lock with his Gaffi, but misjudges his own height and misses. The gamorrean's dodge gives Rem the opportunity to dispatch another. Yana and Lis both fire at the remaining with their pistols. Stolis' decisive critical hit takes the last gamorrean down.
The crew briefly searches the bar for items they can use. Stolis gets a few coins of local currency from the gamorrean she took down. R00m-8a grabs a horned skull from the wall and fashions it into a stylish belt buckle. Rem grabs a rusted old E-11 carbine that Chud kept behind the bar. Adarla is impressed by their quick actions and confides her true role on Socorro while bringing them up to speed on current events. She advises them to get the Hypermatter Reactor Ignitor at Vorn's Junkshop around the corner and get off planet fast. Before they go she issues one last warning about the parking situation at Mos Shuuta which has become the Imperial Remnant's last remaining hold on the city. The only way to get off planet without a bunch of pirates chasing them down is to slice into the Imperial Spaceport computers and erase the ship silhouette.
Out on the streets things are still tense even though they have calmed down some. The next stop is Vorn's Junkyard where they meet with the self proclaimed "best junk man in the galaxy" who turned out to be a surly cantankerous droid bigot. After much unsuccessful haggling, it was Vorn's sad little droid, R5-K3 who helped them steal the part while Vorn wasn't looking. R00m-8a gave R5 a droid An emergency repair patchin gratitude.
Given the excitement on the streets early, the crew decided to go the long way around while making their way to the Spaceport. It was on the edge of the Mos Shuuta mesa that they noticed bridges leading to separate much smaller mesas with more humble dwellings than those in Mos Shuuta proper. More importantly, the bridges evoked the cryptic messages on The Fragment that brought them to Socorro. They decide to investigate prior to going to the Spaceport and start to make their way across a series of treacherous bridges made of fraying rope and old ship parts. The risk of falling is real, but everybody makes it across until they are at the largest of the satellite mesas. It is there in the center of "The Peaks that they meet Meera Tili who is patrolling on neighborhood watch. She is shocked when she sees the fragment and leads the group over one final bridge to the home she shares with her father, Ilez Tili. It is there they get their first real break while Ilez invites them in to share a drink of Corellian whisky and tells them the story of the Fragment and the Firespray Patrol Boat - The Lifeline; once piloted by his pirate wife Lilimeer Tili When it was named "the phoenix".
With the visit over, Ilez suggests that they clear their ship silhouette while he gathers some useful supplies and parts for the Lifeline.
