Dhomhain

The lands far to the north east of The Realm were once known as Dhomhain. The land was bleak, its moors shrouded in a perpetual mist. The primary civilization of this land was called the Raiochtain , a race of isolationist magic users.
Over 2000 years ago a catastrophe swept through Dhomhain, destroying huge swaths of the land and decimating the population. This mysterious event produced a dazzling, scintillating light that could be seen throughout The World, and came to be known as The Great Aurora. The destruction of Dhomhain, and the subsequent appearance of this aurora, marked the beginning of a new age.
It is believed that the few Raiochtain that survived the Aurora went extinct in the centuries following the disaster.
Very few people have ventured out to explore the remains of Dhomhain, and those that have reported a desolate, black wasteland, with no living creature in sight.
The perpetual mist of Dhomhain remains, and is imbued with a type of enervating energy that has made further exploration of the land impossible.
