'Nonsense, chum! I have infinite gold! I can stand to melt down enough coin to coat any beast in gold! Now, fetch me the largest purebred hound in the city!'

'No, my lord, I don't think this will work like you think it will. The dog will die in the process!'

'Oh...and this would stop it from barking and doing tricks?'

'Y...yes, sir...'

'Hmmm. Well how about just a giant cake? Can we gild that?'

'That we can do, sir."

Cossar de Lache is the current ruling Duke of Nyiche. He is eccentric and outgoing, often making grand spectacles of seemingly innocuous events. He is the last surviving member of House De Lache, one of the founding families of Nyiche. House De Lache's estate was (unbeknownst to them) located atop a large cavern, and one day the cavern's roof gave way and the entire estate collapsed into this sinkhole. Cossar alone crawled out of the wreckage three days later, the last of his name. He was taken in by an ally of House De Lache, House Phynaster, who completed the boys education. De Lache quickly made a name for himself amongst the politically minded nobles of Nyiche with his ambition and energy. With a flair for the dramatic, De Lache eventually won the faith of his fellow nobles and attained the title of Duke. He has held this position for the past 30 years.
