Redwind Tower

Constructed some time in the 13th century by the acclaimed wizard Lorian Redwind, the simply named Redwind Tower was built as a private sanctum and study for the mage. Since Redwind’s disappearance in the around 17th century the tower has stood vacant…until a nameless group of adventurers assumed control of it.

Purpose / Function

As many mages are want to do, Redwind Tower was built by Lorian Redwind as a place where he could pursue his arcane research uninterrupted in his own private domain. Compared to other towers, Redwind Tower appeared shorter and less ornamented than its contemporaries. This was a partial reflection of Redwind himself, who, while he did possess a taste for the finer things, did not bother to compare himself with other magic users. Confident in his abilities and in himself, Redwind cared very little for putting on appearances.

Architecture

This four story structure is primarily made of large blocks of limestone, granite, and sandstone. At its apex is an electrum plated dome with large arched windows that allow the chamber to be filled with natural light.
Though the exterior of the structure is not as garish or opulent as Redwind’s contemporaries, it is the inside of the structure where the mage is able to flex his arcane muscle.
Redwind was able to utilize multiple extra-dimensional demi-planes in which he constructed various rooms. These rooms are accessible through the various doorways on the third floor of the structure. He also imbued the tower itself with arcane energy, and created a vessel through which he could interface with the tower. Redwind was able to grant the tower some degree of artificial intelligence, an entity which assisted the mage in various tasks, functioning similar to an omnipresent butler.

Defenses

The structure itself was replete with numerous arcane traps and puzzles, though there were only part of the structure's defense system. Currently the tower is protected by two indentured servants, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, as well as a number of arcane constructs.
