The Djeran Sultanate

The Djeran Sultanate is the geographically largest and oldest elective monarchy in The Realm, occupying nearly a quarter of the continent and the entirety of the Djeran desert. The Djeran Sultanate was founded in 800 BA during the aftermath of a bloody civil war between the two fraternal rulers of The Sehadjer Empire known as the War of the Two Kings. Djer-Azim, on his death-bed, officially dissolved his empire and decreed that the people were to lead themselves with the help of an elected official and a cabinet of advisors. The first elected sultan was a renowned adventurer and close friend of Djer-Azim, Aknanh the Scribe.
