Magic & Things
The eclectic Rhedar's storefront is cluttered with half-finished projects, spilling over into the areas where actual goods are sold. Small tags mark the items actually for sale, and a sign in the back cheerily offers to discuss commissions. From the back, smells of bubbling reagents and burning metal hint at projects ongoing even as the proprietor speaks to customers. Spider-like mechanical servitors assist customers and provide security for the store, despite the rarity of thieves in the Foundling Village.
Rhedar himself has a bitter rivalry with the magic shop across the street, The Raised Tower This stems from a philosophical difference. While the gnomish artificer lets his interests and passions guide him to the most exciting new projects, his narrow-minded rival insists that the orderly structures by which he learned to craft are the only path to true understanding. From this rivalry, the two have begrudgingly developed a standard pricing model between their two shops, competing on relative quality for visitor's coin.
